For quite some time, we’ve organised yearly Tango holidays in the most extraordinary of places: a place where we’ve lived for 7 years and that is close to our heart – Japan, the land of the rising sun. So come along and join “JaPango”. Not only will you dance in one of the most exciting tango places in the world, you will also experience Japan’s beauty and amazing variety, its cities, culture, and nature. Your journey will take you from Tokyo, the current capital, to the ancient capital of the South, Kyoto.

For dancers and all others

I am a tango dancer and instructor, and I love mixing learning, pleasure and unique experiences. We will join the nicest milongas and enjoy great classes. (also OPEN to NON Dancers).

Our experience

We have taken groups to Japango since 2014. Every year, travelers from all around the world trust us for their tango holidays. One thing is certain: everything goes smoother with experience!

Friendly groups

Our holidays retain a certain family style, they are friendly, and all encompassing. Dancers of all levels are welcome. You can join as a dance couple or on your own, you’ll have a great time either way!

Visit of Tokyo

» Tokyo main boroughs: Shibuya, Harajuku, Omotesando, Ginza and Shinjuku
» Tokyo temples: Harajuku (Meiji Jingumae) and Asakusa
» Trip on the river  and visit of a Japanese garden
» Evening at Odaiba (Tokyo bay)

Tango classes and milongas

Most of our tango activities will be in Tokyo. We teamed up with our tango friends from Japan to organise an infinitely enjoyable programme consisting of four classes and milonga touring.

Visits outside of Tokyo

We will visit:
» Kamakura and its Daibutsu: the Great Buddha, the largest of its kind in Japan
» Nikko (UNESCO World Heritage Centre) and its magnificent temple in the 1000-year old ceddar forest
» Yokohama, the ultra-futuristic city neighbouring Tokyo

Going further afield

Visit of:
» Mount Fuji and the lake area at Hakone
» Going back in time by a thousand years to Kyoto, the ancient capital
» Looking back at history at Hiroshima
» Discovering the beauty of Miyajima island

About your host

Bruno

I have lived 7 years in Tokyo and travelled extensively in Japan so it is like a second home to me – you will feel safe and benefit from this amazing country. I prepared the tour with the best Japan has to offer, from tradition to modernity, from culture to nature, from huge cities to remote places. One thing for sure: you will love your JaPango trip.

What a fantastic two weeks – so many thanks to Bruno for sharing his knowledge and love of Japan, and his patience with us all, for guiding us so expertly through Tokyo and Kyoto etc. We had a really wonderful time, perfectly planned and executed – with so many highlights. The trip to Japan was very well organised and busy with visits to shrines, temples, museums, Tango lessons, milongas and other activities. I found time to explore everyday Japanese lifestyle. The food in Japan is beautifully prepared and presented and I especially enjoyed the evening meal and breakfast at the traditional Japanese Inn where we stayed overnight. Overall it was a very rewarding and informative holiday. I left Japan impressed with the cleanliness, order and friendliness of Japanese people. It was also much cheaper than I had been led to believe. I would love to return one day.

We signed up for the Japango trip with Bruno because we didn’t know Japan yet and we were excited about his introduction, who had lived there. We were curious to meet Japanese tangueros and were looking forward to tango lessons in Tokyo.
