Main highlights

Experience a unique two-week adventure through South Korea, combining cultural discoveries, nature walks and the passion of tango. From the vibrant neighbourhoods of Seoul and Busan, to the tropical beauty of Jeju Island, immerse yourself in the essence of Korean tradition and modern life.
In a nutshell
Step into a journey where rhythm and discovery intertwine. Koreango brings you to a land where tango is danced with elegance — a reflection of Korea’s own grace and intensity, where tango is a real thing: Seoul is known as ‘Buenos Aires of Asia’ and its excellent level of dancing and many milongas.
Discoveries will be at every corner and unveil a country of contrasts: ancient palaces and neon skylines, volcanic peaks and tranquil temples, tradition and modernity. We will even visit the fascinating DMZ between the two Koreas. Along the way, savour the country’s exquisite cuisine — from sizzling bulgogi and bibimbap to fiery kimchi and the fresh flavours of Jeju’s seafood — reflecting balance and harmony.
Together, we’ll dance, explore, taste and feel a Korea that few travellers truly experience — a country waiting to be discovered through the music of connection. We will go in September and enjoy the beautiful weather, warm temperatures and sunny skies. So, here is your programme. Ready?

What we have organised for you

Enjoy tango that will make your heart jump in the ‘Buenos Aires’ of Asia!
In Seoul and Busan we will join amazing local milongas to enjoy local tango scene – prepare to be impressed. We have also organised three tango lessons for the group only – expect real fun sessions, with one of them focusing on dancing milonga too!
The trip ends with a last milonga on the night before departure, and bring back with you so many tango memories they will barely fit in the aircraft cabin.

Discover majestic Seoul for everlasting memories
In Seoul, tradition and modern energy blend seamlessly. Wander through Gyeongbokgung Palace and the charming lanes of Bukchon Hanok Village, then dive into the creativity of Hongdae’s cafés, galleries and music. Step back in time at the Korean Folk Village in Yongin. And take a gentle hike through Bukhansan National Park, where forested trails and sweeping city views reveal a quieter side of the capital. Evenings come alive with tango — danced with the same passion and precision that defines the city itself.

Experience shopping as a fine art
Shopping in Seoul is an experience alive with energy and colour. From the bright lights of Myeongdong to the trendy boutiques of Hongdae, the streets pulse with K-pop music, fashion, and youthful creativity. Food markets tempt you at every turn — sizzling tteokbokki, hotteok filled with cinnamon, and freshly grilled skewers creating unique aromas. And wander through stalls, pop into stylish shops, and soak up the lively rhythms that spill out onto every corner. It is shopping, culture, and street life woven into one adventure.

Learn about Korea’s recent and tragic past at the DMZ
Visit the Demilitarised Zone, an extraordinary and moving experience — a place where history feels intensely present. Standing at the edge of one of the world’s most fortified borders, you witness the stark contrast between quiet landscapes and decades of tension. The stories of separation, resilience, and hope give the visit a powerful emotional weight. From observatories overlooking the North to the atmosphere of the Joint Security Area, the DMZ offers a rare, thought-provoking glimpse into Korea’s past and its enduring desire for peace.

Unearth Busan – and travel with no zombies* on the trainVisit Busan, an exciting and dynamic port where mountains meet the sea, balancing bustle and calm. Explore bustling markets, golden beaches, and seafood feasts; then find serenity at seaside temples and coastal trails — a refreshing taste of Korea’s southern charm. We will start with Gamcheon, a unique kaleidoscope of pastel houses and an open-air art gallery, filled with murals, sculptures, and panoramic sea views. We will also visit stunningly beautiful Taejongdae and its scenic trail through evergreen forest to the lighthouse. But wait! We will also enjoy tango in Busan in its milongas. *watch Train to Busan (film)!

Travel back in time at Gyeongju
Known as “the museum without walls”, Gyeongju preserves Korea’s ancient heart. Royal tombs, serene temples, and the graceful Bulguksa complex whisper stories of previous Dynasties — a timeless city where history, Buddhism and nature coexist in harmony.
We will visit Gyeongju’s main sites, travelling back in time and discover Silla sepultures, palaces of times past, and even a museum with extraordinary artifacts.

Connecting with nature at tropical island Jeju
A world apart from the mainland, Jeju enchants with volcanic landscapes, waterfalls, and the serene Hallasan mountain. Its beaches, lava caves, and legendary Haenyeo divers reveal a life shaped by the sea — a natural paradise of beauty and spirit. We will fly and will explore Dongmun Traditional Market. A guided tour will reveal the island’s many treasures: stunning beaches with soft white sand, striking stretches of deep black volcanic sand, and hikes through scenic national parks. We will enjoy walks up local viewpoints for picturesque panoramas, and, if time allows, visit a serene temple. Pure bliss – a true holiday in paradise!

This tango holiday is not just about dance and discoveries; it is about creating connections with other fellow dancers from the group and at the local milongas, share a laugh (or ten), and making new friends in the process. So embrace the extraordinary with Koreango.
